  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Water as required
  • 100 gms khoya or mawa
  • 1/4 cup caster sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 cup chocolate( 3/4 cup light chocolate + 1/4 cup dark chocolate)
  • 4 tbsp mixed dryfruits, crushed

METHOD:

  1. To prepare this chocolate delight, start by taking the dry fruits and crushing them into small pieces.
  2. In a small bowl, add the chocolate and place it in the microwave for a couple of minutes to melt or you can melt through double boiling method too.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine all purpose flour, ghee, cocoa powder, vanilla extract. Mix it well, then, pour water, gradually, and knead it to form a semi soft dough. When the dough is done, cover the bowl with a moist cloth and keep aside for 15 minutes.
  4. For stuffing, heat a pan on medium flame and add khoya to it. Roast it till it turns light brown and transfer it to a bowl and let it cool down.
  5. Add crushed dry fruits, cardamom powder to the bowl. Mix well. Then, add caster sugar and melted chocolate and mix well again.
  6. Divide the dough and make small balls. Press the small balls with the palm of your hands and then roll them out into small pooris.
  7. Place the rolled out dough on the gujiya mould and put 2 tbsp of stuffing in the hollow portion of the mold.

  8. Apply water on the edges and close the mould. Press it tightly from all sides and remove the excess dough.
  9. Remove the gujiya from the mold and keep it on a plate.
  10. Repeat the process with all of the dough.

  11. Heat oil in a pan on medium flame. Fry from both the sides till it turns golden brown.
  12. When the gujiyas are done, transfer them on to a plate lined with kitchen towels to remove the excess oil.
  13. The delicious chocolate ghujiya is ready to eat.
  14. Serve hot!

NOTE: If you don't have ghujiya maker then put the stuffing in the half side of the pooris. Apply water on the edges. Fold and press it with lightly with hands. Make a design with the help of fork.
