Potatoes Halwa


Potato/aloo Halwa is a delicious Indian sweet which is mostly made for vrat. It is prepared from the mashed potatoes, ghee, milk, and sugar. Super easy to prepare, this sweet goodness is sure to satiate your taste buds and fill your tummies with contentment.

RECIPE 
Prep time: 20 minutes
Cook time: 30 minutes
Total time: 50 minutes
Serves: 3-4

INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 medium potatoes; peeled, boiled and mashed
  • 1/2 cup ghee
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup caster sugar
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder 
  • 3-4 tbsp mixed dryfruits, chopped

METHOD:

  1. Heat ghee in a pan.
  2. Add potatoes and saute well on medium flame. The more you saute the better the halwa tastes.
  3. Stir continuously as it tends to stick to the bottom a little.
  4. Add milk and caster sugar. Mix well.
  5. Cook till the sugar dissolves completely and the halwa starts leaving ghee.
  6. Add 1tbsp ghee, cardamom powder and mixed dryfruits and mix well.
  7. Garnish with mixed dry fruits and saffron strands before serving.
  8. Serve immediately.
