Banana chocolate smoothie

It is a great healthy breakfast or snack throughout the week. Bananas are packed with potassium, magnesium, and vitamin C. This smoothie is best made with frozen bananas, but you can use unfrozen ripe bananas in a pinch. Frozen bananas help to chill the smoothie and make it extra thick and creamy, similar to a milkshake.
RECIPE 
Prep time: 5 minutes
Refrigerate time: 8 hours
Total time: 8 hours 5 minutes
Serves: 2-3
INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 frozen bananas 
  • 1 cup yogurt 
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • A pinch of cardamom powder 
  • 2 tbsp almonds + some for garnishing 
  • 2 tbsp melted chocolate + some for garnishing 

METHOD

  1. Peel and cut the bananas.
  2. Place the sliced bananas in a zip-top baggie and squeeze out any excess air or freeze in airtight container.
  3. Freeze the bananas for at least 8 hours or overnight.
  4. In a blender, combine frozen bananas, milk, honey, vanilla extract, cardamom powder, almonds, melted chocolate and blend till smooth. 
  5. Garnish with melted chocolate, honey and almonds.
  6. Healthy and yummy banana chocolate smoothie is ready to drink.
  7. Serve immediately!

NOTE:
You can use unfrozen ripe bananas too if you don't have frozen bananas.
