Garlic knots

Garlic knots are a type of garlic bread. These easy garlic knots are strips of pizza dough tied in a knot, baked and then topped with melted butter, garlic and coriander. It is so easy to make. It smells amazingly hoppy!

Serves: 2-3
INGREDIENTS:
Dough
  • 2 cups all purpose flour 
  • 2 tsp instant dry yeast
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 3/4 cup warm water + additional 
  • 2 tbsp olive oil + additional 
  • 1 tbsp coriander, chopped 
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
Garlic  butter
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped 
  • 1 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
METHOD:
  1. Proof yeast. In a bowl take warm water, sugar and dry yeast and give a quick mix. Keep this mixture aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven at 180° C for 10 minutes. 
  3. For the dough, mix together yeast mixture, flour, salt, 2 tbsp olive oil, coriander, chopped garlic, water as required and mix together. 
  4. Knead the dough for about 7-10 minutes until the dough is springy.
  5. Grease a large bowl with olive oil, place the dough in the bowl, cover with plastic wrap or kitchen napkin, and leave to rise in a warm place for 1 hour (or until doubled in size).
  6. Gently punch the dough with fist to release down the air and knead it again.
  7. Tear the dough into 9 separate balls and then roll into long tubes, folding over to make a knot.
  8. Place the knots on a baking tray.
  9. Bake at 180°C for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Prepare the garlic butter by mixing the butter, garlic, and parsley.
  11. Coat the knots with the butter mixture.
  12. Yummy garlic knots are ready to eat. You can serve it with the dip of your choice.
